This calculator is designed based on the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). It helps students accurately calculate their Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
RTU follows a 10-point grading scale. Below is the official table used for calculations:
| Grade | Points | Description |
|---|---|---|
| A++ | 10 | Outstanding |
| A+ | 9 | Excellent |
| A | 8.5 | Very Good |
| B+ | 8 | Good |
| B | 7.5 | Above Average |
| C+ | 7 | Average |
| C | 6.5 | Below Average |
| D+ | 6 | Marginal |
| D | 5.5 | Pass |
| E+ | 5 | Pass (Old Regulation) |
| E | 4 | Pass (Old Regulation) |
| F | 0 | Fail |
Sum(Credit × Grade Point) / Sum(Total Credits)
(Prev CGPA × Prev Credits + Current SGPA × Current Credits) / Total Credits
If a student scores A (8.5) in a 4-credit subject and
B (7.5) in a 2-credit lab:
Total Points = (8.5 × 4) + (7.5 × 2) = 34 + 15 = 49
Total Credits = 4 + 2 = 6
SGPA = 49 / 6 = 8.16
Always compare the calculated SGPA with your official marksheet. You can download your official marksheet from rtu.sumsraj.com or the main rtu.ac.in website by entering your roll number.
